WEB MASTER POSITION

Web master position available with Island Life magazine.

The position offers salary plus annual bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Web server upgrade and maintenance
  • Graphic Design and technical integration of proprietary and third-party design.
  • Review of potential software to fulfill the company’s software needs related to the Internet and engagement of potential vendors.
  • Maintenance of the company’s domain names and SSL certificates and facilitation of DNS change requests to fulfill application deployment and new domain needs.
  • Answering and routing of e-mail from the public at-large.
  • Web services support, creating new Web sites, Intranet and restricted access areas.
  • Administration of Web calendaring, Web forum, and other Web-related communications services.
  • Creation and maintenance of FTP sites and Web drives.
  • Web site statistics using a professional statistical suite.
  • Troubleshooting and quick response during outages and in emergency situations.
  • On-call server support.
  • Application deployment, testing, and light development and maintenance using Java, Java Servlets, JSP, .Net – ASP,  Perl, and CGI.
  • Client-side scripting using JavaScript and DHTML.
  • Technical support for Internet Staff in JavaScript, ASP, HTML, and CSS as needed.
  • Strategic planning, technology research and innovative ideas.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Required:

  • Two years experience administering servers and websites.
  • Two years experience managing an enterprise Content Management System.
  • Two years experience in Web Application Development. Preference given to experience in .Net framework and classic ASP.
  • Two years Web Design experience. Preference given to experience using Adobe CS3 suite including PhotoShop.
  • Advanced knowledge (speaking, reading and writing) of the English, Spanish and German languages.

Preferred:

  • Two years experience managing SSL certificates and Domain Names.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio technologies and Adobe Dream weaver a plus.
  • Experience with DSN on Windows Server and Experience with ODBC connections.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience administering an enterprise Web site statistics service, such as SmarterStats or Google Web analytics.

ADVERTISING SALES POSITION

Sales positions available with Island Life magazine.

The position offers salary plus commission.

Requirements:

  • Must be confident, enthusiastic and target driven.
  • Previous advertising or related sales experience.
  • Speak fluent Spanish (or German) & English
  • Own transport

Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of proven successful consultative sales experience required in either outside sales or inside sales/account management. Prior experience selling specific or combined marketing services, distribution channel promotions or print / online advertising is a big plus.   Sales campaign or project management experience is also a plus.  Prior experience in the sign & graphics industry not required, but also a plus.

KEY  SALES EXECUTIVE

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Very competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Very comfortable with internet navigation
  • Very strong sales presentation skills – both on the phone and in person
  • Understands the basics of database marketing
  • Proven success selling to, and building account relationships with mid-sized and large companies using consultative selling techniques
  • Excellent English language skills are a must and knowledge of Spanish and German is a plus
  • 2 years experience in account management
  • 2 years experience in personnel/team management

Responsibilities:

As a Key Account Executive you will sell advertising programs to our key clients.   Your primary relationships with these clients will be Mid-level or Senior-level Marketing Executives.   The advertising programs you will sell range from online premium listings and banner advertisement to printed advertisement as well as more complex direct marketing campaigns that integrate multiple channels (web, direct mail, direct email, inbound/outbound phone).

  • You will work closely with the Publisher and Associate Publisher and collaborate with other staff to develop custom advertising campaigns that uniquely meet the needs of our clients.
  • This position will require 80% inside sales/account management (on the phone!) and 20% outside sales including travel to industry trade shows and client visits.
  • You also will be responsible for initiating and implementing sales strategies that help you convert new clients and grow our business with current clients.  Ultimately you will be accountable for meeting or exceeding specific sales revenue targets.
  • You will be responsible for the sales team and ensuring that they are properly managed, directed and coached. This responsibility includes (but is not limited to): ensuring that individual members of the team achieve their sales revenue targets, hiring and terminating team employees and setting individual and team sales revenue targets.
