Santa Clara Hotel

REDESIGNING HISTORY

Now you do not have to split yourself in two if you are looking for complete relaxation and a central location for your hotel. Recently opened but already fully booked, the Santa Clara Urban Hotel & Spa in Palma de Mallorca allures with its fashionable and original look that combines traditional, Mallorcan style and the latest design trends. This superior 4-star hotel in the historical port of Palma within walking distance of the main attractions and shopping centre, is the perfect accommodation for cosmopolitan, urban people who appreciate luxurious interiors and the best spa treatments.

Historic and smart

Looking at the historic Mallorcan palace in Sant Alonso Street, one can become surprised when entering to the specious reception hall. The first thing that attracts the eye is the piece of work of Mallorcan cutting-edge artist, Pep Llambías. This modern installation gives the impression that this luxurious accommodation opts for a creative, open-minded and artistic ambience and assures us that this is not going to be another traditional Mallorcan hotel.

The Santa Clara Hotel & Urban Spa is in the historical town of Palma. This superior 4-star hotel is in the very heart of Palma, within walking distance of tourist attractions such as the 10th century Arab baths and Palma's breathtaking Gothic cathedral. From the hotel window you will be able to relish the tranquility of the Santa Clara monastery with its picturesque gardens. Enjoy the solarium at the top of this ancient building with its incredible views across Palma Bay, sea and the city centre with the cathedral and other spots of tourist interest.

The Mallorcan palace was reformed and revitalised in September 2007 and redesigned by the architect Antonio Garcia Ruiz to excel the expectations of even the most demanding clients. Some parts of the building date back to the VIII century and were appropriated into the very modern design Santa Clara boasts. The contrast between ancient walls and cutting-edge pictures or designer furniture makes an unforgettable impression when you enter for the first time. The hotel unites the best of traditional Mallorcan with all modern facilities as expected in luxurious accommodation such as spa and solarium.

Fit for Royalty

Santa Clara Hotel features five floors if we count the roof-top solarium and spa located in the cellar. Opened in April 2008 it offers 20 spacious, luxuries and well-equipped rooms. Santa Clara Hotel accommodation offers the following facilities: satellite TV, plasma screen TV, air conditioning or heating, minibar, safe, direct dial telephone, wi-fi, hairdryer and bathrobe. The architecture of the palace makes each room unique and far from being standard. High ceilings and rustic stone walls create a special ambiance, not easy to repeat in freshly-built buildings. Even if we stay in a normal double room we are going to enjoy the comfort of plenty of space and ensuite bath with an avant-garde touch - a window between the bathroom and the bedroom. The pieces of furniture are all in the same style: minimalist but very cozy with a hint of modern art. The junior suite includes a roof window with automatic blinds and is equipped with double bed and a comfortable sitting room. A smart and huge sofa invites you to have a rest and watch a film or sport on your plasma TV. Santa Clara hotel offers more than 200 channels so there is no chance of being bored on rainy days.

If superior double and suites sound more like your style, Santa Clara suites include a two-person Jacuzzi and 42-inch plasma screen TV. All suites are spacious, split-level rooms with a downstairs sitting room. Upstairs in the loft you can find the sleeping area equipped with a double room and another plasma screen TV.

Urban relief

Apart from the perfect location and creative design Santa Clara hotel allures with a totally-equipped spa where one can get the ultimate in relaxation.Hotel guests have the choice ofScottish shower `sensations’ with orange aroma water, saunas or a Turkish bath with changing colours. Looking for a massage or other beauty treatment? With 24-hours notice you can have a private session with a professional masseur. Taking advantage of the good weather, guests can visit the solarium on the hotel roof where chill-out music is played and cocktails can be served. Just having a view across the neighbourhood, makes one even more relaxed. You can feel really privileged at having access to one of the most beautiful panoramas in Palma city.

Going up from the reception hall, on a mezzanine floor we find a cosy dining room that offers breakfast service and a bar in the evening. The breakfast will set you up for the day as it includes a selection of the best Mallorcan food, local products, all fresh and from the best producers. Ensaimadas and sobrasada are a must. From 18.00-22.00 there is a personalised service in the bar so you can have your evening drink before going out to discover nightlife of Palma. If you have a sweet tooth there is an afternoon snack service available in the dining room as well. The receptionists will be happy to inform you about chic places to have your supper, for example in La Lonja district.

Santa Clara Hotel seems perfect for top executives who are looking for tranquillity after working hours and for all those who appreciate the highest standards. You can even work from there as the conference room for about 14 people is at your disposal and apart from free wi-fi service, one portable computer can be lent to any hotel guest. Tired of working? No problem, have a relaxing bath in the spa or get sun-tanned on the solarium listening to some quiet rhythms.

The XVIII century walls provide an interesting backdrop to the latest design techniques, while the ancient beams contrast with modern furniture and abstract art. Santa Clara hotel surprises with its contrasts, makes new trends in luxurious accommodation and, first of all, meets all the expectations of its guests with its excellent and quick service.
